LARRABEE CANDLES

"every scent has a story"

hand poured. small batch. natural soy wax candles with uniquely inspired scents.

Handcrafted with intention from start to finish for unparalleled quality

Candle making is a craft. Candle making is a science. Candle making is an art.  LARRABEE is what happens when craft, science & art come together to create handmade artisanal soy wax candles.

A LARRABEE candle is made by hand, not machine. Created with intention, the resulting product is a high quality candle that burns clean and delivers a consistently strong scent for the lifetime of the candle when well-maintained.

It starts with a story

Every scent has a story... a sensory memory or experience from my life that inspired me to create the scent. That personal connection  continues as I hand pour each candle. Thanks to this hands-on process I can keep a watchful eye on quality, while also producing a uniqueness to each small batch.

No dyes or additives

The ingredients list for LARRABEE candles is minimal on purpose. I wanted to avoid dyes and other additives that most big candle companies use. I use high quality natural soy wax instead of paraffin with natural wicks. And I create the scents using top shelf fragrance oils that have been developed to burn clean and maintain a strong fragrance throw for the entire candle burn.

First Burn Guidance

The first time you light a LARRABEE candle, you want to make sure that you let it burn until the melted wax pool extends to the edges of the container. Ending that first burn prematurely will produce tunneling in soy wax, which will prevent the candle burning evenly in the future. Burn for 2-3 hours, but no more than 4 hours for one continuous burn.

To ensure an even burn every time, keep your wick trimmed to about 1/4 inch & remove any soot between burns. Use a snuffer instead of blowing the candle out in order to prevent any soot from falling into the wax.

The LARRABEE Candle Care Kit contains both tools (trimmer & snuffer).

Life of natural soy wax candles

LARRABEE candles embrace the imperfection that comes along with making the perfect soy wax candle without adding more than needed. Some candles may have slight imperfections, but they will burn just fine. The shelf life of a 100% soy wax candle is approximately 12-18 months when it begins to naturally deteriorate.

So for maximum quality and enjoyment, you should keep the candle out of the sunlight. Avoid getting dust on it and burn it completely within a year of purchase.  The good news is that although you may notice some diminished performance, the older candle is still safe to burn
